NAR Requires "Code of Ethics Training" Cycle IV

According to the bylaws of NAR, LR, and NOMAR anyone who does not take this class during 2013 - 2016 will have their membership suspended at the end of 2016.

If you HAVE taken this class during this period:

  • NOTE:  this is the only class that we ask for your CE certificate (if you took it from someone other than NOMAR)

We want to assist you by providing you with the following options to take this class:

  • Classes given by NOMAR. We have classes scheduled every month through the end of the year in our Metairie and Mandeville offices. Classes are free to NOMAR members through September. After that, there is a $20 charge. You will receive 4 hours of CE credit. 
  • From some of our Affiliate members: Bayou Title, Crescent Title, Title Stream, Southern Title may have classes scheduled.
  • Donaldson Real Estate School offers online and correspondence classes. You can sign up at www.DonaldsonEducational.com or call (504) 456-1785. There is a charge and CE credits will vary.
  • Burk Baker School of Real Estate & Appraising offers a 4 hour online class. Go to http://www.burkbaker.com or call (504) 838-4000

You can also take it FREE online through NAR. Click on https://www.nar.realtor/code-of-ethics/training. However, no LREC CE credits are given for NAR’s online class.

If you can't remember if you have taken quadrennial "Code of Ethics Training-Cycle IV" anytime after January 1, 2013, consult your education record at the Louisiana Real Estate Commission's website.

  • Enter your name or license number
  • On the next page, "License Search Results", click on your name
  • On the "License Search Result Details" page at the bottom, click on "View Education Record"
  • The class may also be called "Quadrennial Ethics Training"

NAR Requirement for "Quadrennial Code of Ethics Training"

"Effective January 1, 2001 ... and for successive four (4) year periods thereafter, REALTORS® are required to complete quadrennial ethics training of not less than two (2) hours and thirty (30) minutes of instructional time."
