The NOMAR Government Affairs Department maintains a full time professional staff to ensure that the REALTOR® voice is heard and your interests are protected. Our primary function is to monitor legislation throughout seven parishes including: Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, and St. John.

By attending council, committee and task force meetings in every parish within the New Orleans Metropolitan area, we secure the opportunity to promote legislation that is helpful or oppose legislation that is harmful to the real estate industry.

As a department, we also work to ensure that the REALTOR® image is constantly viewed in a positive light. Our close partnerships with the Louisiana REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS® helps to ensure that NOMAR has access to special programs, toolkits and grants that allow members to be a strong and positive image in the communities they serve.
