The New Member Orientation date for January 2017 has been moved to Tuesday, January 10, 2016 for both the Metairie and Mandeville offices due to the holidays. Orientation will begin at 9 a.m., as usual. View the January 2017 online calendar for details.

Vote YES on December 10 for Sales Tax & Millage Renewals in Jefferson Parish
NOMAR supports the renewal of the millage and sales taxes for Jefferson Parish drainage & recreation, as well as the millage renewal for Jefferson Parish Public Schools. The millage and sales tax renewals are not new taxes and, if passed, would not change existing the property or sales taxes for anyone in Jefferson Parish. 783 REALTORS® are currently in jeopardy of losing REALTOR® status and MLS Access at end of December 2016 for not taking their Quadrennial Code of Ethics. NAR Requires “Code of Ethics Training” – Cycle IV
These members were mailed a notice, sent numerous emails, and your brokers have been notified. We are making every last effort to assist you in fulfilling your NAR requirement for membership prior to the end of the year to avoid a lapse in your membership and MLS Service. All REALTORS® Must Renew Licenses With LREC by December 31
The Louisiana Real Estate Commission and Appraisal Board has posted 2017 License Renewal packets to your LREC email address. If you have not received it in your email you need to go the the LREC website, login, and review your status.
All licenses, both real estate and appraisal, must be renewed by December 31 in order to remain active and have MLS services in January 2017. Please note December 31 falls on a weekend and the LREC may be closed part of the week prior to that weekend. We strongly encourage members to take care of license renewal well in advance of December 31.
LREC cannot process 14,000 applications overnight. Until a license is properly processed, you may find yourself without services. This is because E&O insurance compliance is part of the process, and no one can practice real estate or appraisal without an active license.

ALL CE COURSES for the remainder of the year will cost NOMAR members $5 an hour. In order to view all upcoming CE courses for the remainder of 2016, please view our online calendar and register for the course of your choosing. Online registration is the fastest and easiest way to ensure you are enrolled in the course that fits your needs.
As a reminder, registration is NEVER taken over the phone, but you may use the printable registration forms found on our website to email or fax in your request.
Please note: as of today, Dec. 12, 2016, there is only one CE course remaining for the rest of the year.
