We are making every last effort to assist you in fulfilling your NAR requirement for membership prior to the end of the year to avoid a lapse in your membership and MLS Service. NOMAR Gives Back
This month, our Affiliates Committee and Young Professionals Network have worked hard to give back to worthy organizations throughout the metropolitan area. YPN donated two large boxes of toys, along with a monetary donation from the YPN Kick-Off fundraiser, to the Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Louisiana. This donation would not be possible without the help of our generous members!
Additionally, YPN presented a check to the New Orleans Chapter of the VFW, made possible through the generosity of our members during a fundraising raffle and through our state association, Louisiana REALTORS®.
Lastly, our Affiliates Committee made a donation to Zeus' Rescues, a no-kill shelter in New Orleans. This donation was made possible by the generous attendees of our Second Annual Doggie Adoption Day!
We'd like to thank all of our members for their generosity not just this month, but throughout all of 2016!
January 2017 New Member Orientation Date Moved
The New Member Orientation date for January 2017 has been moved to Tuesday, January 10, 2016 for both the Metairie and Mandeville offices due to the holidays. Orientation will begin at 9 a.m., as usual. View the January 2017 online calendar for details.
All REALTORS® Must Renew Licenses With LREC by December 31
The Louisiana Real Estate Commission and Appraisal Board has posted 2017 License Renewal packets to your LREC email address. If you have not received it in your email you need to go the the LREC website, login, and review your status.
All licenses, both real estate and appraisal, must be renewed by December 31 in order to remain active and have MLS services in January 2017. Please note December 31 falls on a weekend and the LREC may be closed part of the week prior to that weekend. We strongly encourage members to take care of license renewal well in advance of December 31.
LREC cannot process 14,000 applications overnight. Until a license is properly processed, you may find yourself without services. This is because E&O insurance compliance is part of the process, and no one can practice real estate or appraisal without an active license.
